There is some confusion about what a brand is. Your organization’s brand is more than just your logo. It’s who you are, it’s what you do, it’s how you do it. It’s the whole experience you provide to your clients. That’s why it’s your framework. If you don’t have that underlying structure clearly defined, everything else about your organization will be unstable. You won’t have a clear direction of why you do what you do.
Your logo is the visual representation of your brand. It’s like whatever material your house is made out of (brick, vinyl siding, etc.).
Your website is like your front door. It’s one of the most prominent things people see when they look at your house. It’s the means they use to enter your house. When they get to your front door, you want to make sure they know all they need to know to walk right in.
If your website is your front door, then marketing is the walkway that leads people to your front door. Whether that’s print pieces (business cards, brochures) or digital means (SEO, Google ads, social media, etc), the goal is to get people to your front door and then ultimately, into the house.
So it all starts with the framework of your brand. Whether your business is just starting out or you’ve been around for decades, you need to be able to effectively communicate what your brand stands for and what sets it apart in order to attract the clients you want to serve. And in this digital world we live in, you need to do that through visually appealing, professional, and functional design and marketing.
