ABOUT
Hi, I’m Lindsey, and I love telling stories
Whether that’s in written form, through photos or video, or through designing the print and web materials for a business, I am passionate about making the stories of individuals and organizations come to life.
I graduated summa cum laude from Virginia Tech with a B.A. in Communication, with minors in Professional Writing and International Studies. I took courses in journalism, technical writing & editing, web design, marketing, and more.
Since graduating from Virginia Tech in 2012, I have gained writing, design, and marketing experience through the positions I’ve held, as well as through freelance projects. I’ve worked with organizations in a variety of sectors including nonprofit, healthcare, agriculture, and small business.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Yearbook editor to copywriter & designer
I’ve always been a writer. While other kids were climbing trees and playing tag, I was writing my latest story about the Feline Bureau of Investigation or convincing my friends to act out a play I had written. English was always my favorite subject, and to give you an idea of how big of a grammar nerd I am, diagramming sentences was one of my favorite things I learned in school.
This led me to join the yearbook staff in high school, where I was first introduced to design. I loved the combination of designing layouts and writing engaging copy. As yearbook editor my senior year, marking up other people’s spreads and copy with a red pen was a dream come true. This passion for writing, editing and design led me to pursue my Communication degree at Virginia Tech.
I thought I wanted to be a journalist but instead fell in love with the nonprofit sector through an internship I had in college. I went on after college to do communications and design work for the Virginia Cooperative Extension Master Gardener program. I also worked at a small healthcare nonprofit for over 5 years, wearing the many hats of graphic design, website management, marketing, communications, donor relations, and event planning.
But the principles of journalism – interviewing people, asking questions, and getting to the heart of the story are still a love of mine, and I apply them to all the work I do as a brand strategist, copywriter, designer, and marketer. I want to help you tell the story of your organization’s brand. And I believe this comprehensive approach to all the projects I take on is what sets me apart.
When I’m not designing or writing, you’ll find me spending time with my husband, Scott, and our sweet kids. I enjoy hiking, playing sports, cheering on the Hokies, and traveling (and taking way too many photos). I also appreciate kittens, relaxing Saturday mornings, a good cup of coffee, and all things purple.
These are a few of my favorite things
