Blacksburg, VA church logo design – Mosaic Church is a nondenominational church based in Blacksburg, VA. It was planted in 2020, and church leadership wanted to have a logo created to represent their mission and model—to focus more on going into the community rather than the traditional “going to church.” They had chosen the name “mosaic” to communicate that their church is made up of broken pieces that are not the same shape, size, color, or makeup. But that when they come together, they can create a beautiful piece of art that can bring joy. They reached out to Framework Creative for a logo design.
I set to work designing the primary and alternate logos based on their unique name and mission. I created two concepts, and after presenting to the leadership, we moved forward with revising the one they felt best represented their organization. The focal point is the colorful mosaic emblem that abstractly resembles people joined together in a circle. The emblem is made up of shapes of varied colors and sizes to create the full mosaic. In the primary logo, the mosaic actually forms the letter “o”. To keep the emblem as the focus, I paired it with a simple sans serif font. I also created several alternate logos for use in settings of various sizes. Some versions of the logo use the church’s tagline “better together” while some use the full church name “Mosaic Blacksburg.” The brand color palette is composed of the colors used in the emblem.
After finalizing the logo designs, I set to work on some brand collateral pieces. I designed an email newsletter header, as well as a social media image set.
